    The 90% of the mateials I create do not absord water. It all depends on wat one considers bulky. Joe Brooks book from the 50’s “Bigger Flies for Bigger Fish” (or somthing like that) had people using size 2 flies for trout. If you are fishing for impoundment stripers, pike and bass and want to attract the larger fish use larger flies. That often means a nine weight rod. Larger streams, even the White River in Arkansas you need at least an 8wt to punch out a size 2 fly.

    Your pike flies look great! I’ve got one question. They are bulky. Do they make a lot of resistance when they exit the water when recasting? Does the material hold lot’s of water?
