    I use a large bowl to clean all my lines at the same time, keep the lines on the reels and strip them in order, one on top of the other, give them a good soak, wind them back on throught a towel, job done :)

    @-3 feet should be fine, if you lose more than 10 feet, I would buy a new one. Take it out a give it a cast if it still runs through the guide properly, then you should be fine.

    I was cleaning my flyline and while it was soaking, I turn around to see my cat with part of the line out of the bowl. Bottom line is I lost the 1st 2-1/2 to 3 feet of my floating line. Do I need a new line? The taper that the leader was attached to is gone.
