hey if u got like 40 bucks try the ugly stik lite fly rods theyr 8 foot and i think 6/7 or 7/8 weight lines theryre strong as hell oh and u really need to look into the hex pattern of fly for late spring early summer and fly fishing is a great sport once u get the hang of it

how much u got i know sum guiddes i can get rods from or you can go to bass pro and get the ones they have for 20 dollars if your going to fish saltwater with it to i would suggest a 7/8 weight rod reel and floating line because your a beginner but if your going to go on the beach get an intermediate sinking line set out hoola hoops and plates in your front yard and practice casting to them

going on trout i think u should learn some good attractor patterns that will work almost anytime anywhere without you having to pick through tonnes of sizes and patterns to match the hatch. But a couple good attractors ive found are Bushy streamers like the wooly buggers, in terms of dries i think some good ones are the orange stimulator and adams parachute. For wets it is impossible to beat the gold ribbed hare’s ear or bead head prince nymph. Tight lines!

Ha i just started fly fishing too :D try tying your own to, very rewarding, I bought the st croix starter outfit but rod wise i think st croix has good price for its quality, I think scientific anglers is decent too. I am seriously addicted to fly fishin now and im going up to fish some good streams like the credit and grand sometime soon. Check out my new tying vids on my profile. PLZ comment ;)

i use cabela’s sweetwater fly rod. Its 8 1/2 ft long and 6wt. its great for huge river trout and amazing flexability. I would tell u to get the reel that is custom made for it but u already have one.
